Virtual Company

A.
So what is a Virtual Company,? An organization that uses computer and telecommunications technologies to extend its capabilities by working routinely with employees or contractors located throughout the country or the world. Using e-mail, faxes, instant messaging, data and videoconferencing, it implies a high degree of telecommuting as well as using remote facilities. and this are the following advantage of a virtual company

1.Cost

Gains from lower overhead costs-no rent,
rates, building maintenance, energy costs etc.

2.Time and Focus

For staff with young children there is no lateness due to child minders arriving late,no time off because the children are ill, no days spent with poor concentration because they are worrying what the children are doing in the holidays or if they are sick. Disruption is kept to a minimum all round, so overall the company gains. We have also found that teleworking staff tend to be more flexible than their office based counterparts. This may be simply a function of the personal qualities which make a good teleworker, but may also be a direct benefit which the company reaps from motivated staff who are empowered to determine their own working patterns. The
staff Gain as they report that the ‘quality’ time they spend with their family has increased as they are spending no time travelling to and from work. Most staff arrange their day around their families, working the hours the job requires and yet at times which suit them.

3.Effectivity

For effective management of the virtual company we should consider communication of the factors influencing the virtual company and properties of a management system, allowing adequately answering pressure of a business environment.

B.

1.Email Etiquette

For most people who have access to personal computers, email has rapidly overtaken ‘snail mail’ as the preferred means of sending written communication, both business and personal. The near-immediate delivery and low cost of email are hard to beat, but the technology does have limitations when it comes to typographic finesse. Here are some dos and don’ts to ensure that your electronic communication is received with its message intact.

2.Forum etiquette

Forum etiquette means maintaining a standard of posting behavior that is acceptable and appropriate. Forum etiquette can be flexible, according to the subject of the forum, but there are certain standards most people expect others to maintain. Some lines must be drawn for the safety of all posting on the forum. One of the staunchest rules of forum etiquette is not posting personal information about another poster. Even if that poster has all but drawn a map to his house, posting a real name or address is considered grounds for a permanent ISP ban on most forums. This could compromise someone's safety. This is probably the most serious breach of forum etiquette and most moderators take it very seriously.

3.Chat etiquette

Just as in real life, how you speak leaves an impression on others. Although we all make the occasional typographical error now and then, misspelling every other word you type can be irritating to others if they have to constantly try to figure out what it is you're saying. DON'T TYPE IN ALL CAPS. Everyone will think you're constantly shouting about something. On the other hand, typing in all lower case is considered mumbling. When first entering a chat room, it is a good idea to just simply type the word "Hello" and then wait and read the conversation a few minutes. This gives you an idea as to what the current conversation is about, before you start adding your own comments.

C.
1. Hiring

There are some benefits of hiring virtual employees, cost, high skill levels, The one caution you need to explore before undertaking such a decision, is how to manage a virtual employee. Be sure you ask your vendor who provides these services about their process for managing this person. You as a client need to adapt your employment model and learn how to manage virtual employees. There are a great number of benefits but it does not come free. Find a good vendor and they can help you along the process.

2.Communication

Communication is fundamental to any form of organizing, but it is preeminent in virtual organizations. Without communication, the boundary-spanning among virtual entities would not be possible. Electronic communication enables parties to link across distance, time, culture, departments, and organizations, thereby creating "anyone/anytime/anyplace" alternatives to the traditional same-time, same-place, functionally-centered, in-house forms of organizational experience.. So when handling a company like this, comminication is a vital tool to survive.

3. Culture

Expectations of how to get work done, and assuming general guidelines for working together, as it applies to the ambiguities of a formal relationship, is an important role of culture. A virtual organization would have the challenge of imparting this same role of culture, in place of the culture that organically develops when you have people hanging around one another in a centralized office. Possible solutions might be coordinating people that come from similar work backgrounds, or possibly using training to ensure that the work relationship is more strongly
formalized.
